The Empathy Test is a powerful tool for everybody interested in measuring his own empathic capabilities and those of their friends.

Empathy is the capacity to recognize and, to some extent, share feelings (such as sadness or happiness) that are being experienced by another person. Someone may need to have a certain amount of empathy before they are able to feel compassion.
The lack of empathic attunement may reduce quality and satisfaction of relationships.
Empathy is in fact the key cornerstone in genuine human relationships. Empathy is conscious. It means one with an high degree of empathy understands others people feelings, and on average is capable to be a better partner, while those with a low empathy are unable to decode other people's emotions, and this means that they need to verbalize and comunicate more explicitly than the formers to avoid hurting them.
A person with total absence of empathy is often diagnosed with Autism Syndrome. A person who has low empathy and difficulties in understanding other feelings is often diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome.
You will be able to test your empathy using real world photos of face expressions, made by a professional actor.
For each photos you will be asked to guess the current emotional state of the person depicted, choosing the right one between four answers.
At the end of the test you will be given the result, your Empathy Index, on a numeric scale, and you'll be able to compare it with the average score of the people of the same sex (that's because women are, on average, more empathic than men).
Privacy: This app does not collect and send any informations about your tests results. All results and informations are kept inside your iOS device.
